I suspect that the proposed solution to this gender gap that the social engineers will take is to make men equally miserable with women. \ud83e\udd14<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>The Paradox of Declining Female Happiness<\/h1>\n<h3>Abstract<\/h3>\n<p>By many objective measures the lives of women in the United States have improved over the<br \/>\npast 35 years, yet we show that measures of subjective well\u2010being indicate that women\u2019s happiness has declined both absolutely and relative to men. The paradox of women\u2019s declining relative well\u2010 being is found across various datasets, measures of subjective well\u2010being, and is pervasive across demographic groups and industrialized countries. Relative declines in female happiness have eroded a gender gap in happiness in which women in the 1970s typically reported higher subjective well\u2010being than did men.
